Understanding Surah Al-Fatiha: The Opening Chapter

Surah Al-Fatiha is the most recited chapter of the Quran — Muslims recite it at least 17 times daily in their obligatory prayers. Yet how often do we truly reflect on its profound meanings? The Seven Oft-Repeated Verses Al-Fatiha is known as "As-Sab'ul Mathani" (The Seven Oft-Repeated Verses). It is also called "Umm al-Quran" (Mother of the Quran) because it contains the essence of the entire Quran's message. Verse-by-Verse Reflection 1. بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful."
